Shrewsbury Town 2 - 0 Bury: Sullay Kaikai and Abu Ogogo inspire Shrewsbury to victory over Bury

Shrewsbury secured just their third win in eight home league matches as high-flying Bury were overcome 2-0.

Sullay Kaikai's fourth goal in as many games and an Abu Ogogo effort clinched maximum points for Micky Mellon's side.

Bury were in control for the opening 20 minutes, with Chris Hussey drilling a shot wide and Reece Brown's low 20-yard drive denied by Jayson Leutwiler.

Shrewsbury gradually settled and almost took a stunning lead when Kaikai's 20-yard volley from Junior Brown's left-wing cross came back off the post.

The Crystal Palace loanee did not have to wait long to find the net, though, as he accepted a pass from Ogogo and drilled past goalkeeper Aaron McCarey from the edge of the box.

Bury pushed for a second-half equaliser as Nathan Cameron nodded just wide, but Shrewsbury were always dangerous when they went forward and doubled their lead in style in the 73rd minute.

The ball fell Ogogo's way 25 yards out and the impressive midfielder fired a shot into the top corner for his first goal for the club.
