Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan has rubbished any rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool in January.

The midfielder enjoyed great success with Jurgen Klopp while in Germany and has been tipped to rejoin his former boss at Anfield.

But he said: "This is an issue that is always floating around.

"I am very happy with BVB and feel very comfortable here. Of course, I can imagine remaining here beyond the end of the season."

Liverpool boss Klopp is considering recalling Lazar Markovic from his loan spell early.

The Serbian winger is currently with Fenerbahce in Turkey but Klopp is understood to be a big fan of his.

According to The Mirror, Liverpool may look to exercise their option to cut short Markovic’s loan in January and bring him back to Anfield.

The 21-year-old cost the Reds £20m in July 2014 but failed to make a real impact and was shipped out during the summer.

Raheem Sterling's agent Aidy Ward has hit out at ex-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, claiming the winger would have flourished under Klopp.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Ward said: "Raheem could have stayed, he should be at Liverpool. I think for me it was like he was being told to be a good boy and sign a contract.

"In December I spoke to Liverpool and said we'll sign a contract if there is a buy-out clause - those clauses are now common practice. They said no to that.

"Then there was an underhandedness, there were sly remarks. In press conferences, Brendan told everyone Raheem would sign - why do that.

"I knew, Brendan knew and Liverpool knew there was an issue. Right now he probably should be a Liverpool player, but he's not and he's in a great place at City."
