Liverpool captain James Milner believes manager Jurgen Klopp will need time to make an impact at Anfield following their 0-0 draw with Spurs.

Klopp replaced former Reds manager Brendan Rodgers at the Merseyside club last week and watched his side grind out a goalless draw at White Hart Lane to get his Premier League career off to a solid start.

Stand-in skipper Milner has urged Liverpool fans to be patient with the former Borussia Dortmund manager, though, and warned they should not expect instant success.

"So much has gone on in these few days. It has been tough for the manager," the England international told ESPN FC.

"It's been a whirlwind for him coming into English football and there is the expectation and pressure on him and the team.

"He is coming to try to get his ideas over and it will take time. He has said he can only feed us so much as he cannot change everything.

"It will take a few months to see exactly what he wants but it is a positive start, although there have been a few injuries, which is really disappointing.
"But you saw that in the team and on the bench, there is still a lot of quality."
