Sheffield Wed. vs Hull City : Jeremy Helan available for Sheffield Wednesday after suspension
Posted Friday, October 16, 2015 by PA
Sheffield Wednesday defender Jeremy Helan will return to contention after missing the home win against Preston last time out due to a one-match ban.
Head coach Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed he has a near full-strength squad to choose from with no major new injury concerns.
Forward Fernando Forestieri and defender Daniel Pudil both overcame hamstring injuries to feature against Preston and are expected to resume.
Midfielder Lewis McGugan, striker Lucas Joao and defender Glenn Loovens are among those pushing for recalls as the Owls bid for a fifth straight win in all competitions.
Hull boss Steve Bruce will consider handing Abel Hernandez a rest following a busy international break for the striker.
Hernandez played in World Cup qualifiers in Bolivia and his native Uruguay and, as last man back to training, the lunchtime kick-off may come too early for him.
Chuba Akpom is a possible stand-in, having scored his first goal since August 11 for England Under-21s in midweek.
Shaun Maloney, Allan McGregor, Andy Robertson, Mohamed Diame and David Meyler have also been away with their countries but should be fully available.
