Liverpool could be forced to pay more for Danny Ings than they initially intended after the former Burnley striker made his England debut on Monday.

The Reds and Clarets failed to settle on a fee for the 23-year-old when he moved to Anfield during the off-season, which will now be determined by a tribunal.

Ings made his senior bow for the Three Lions as a substitute in their 3-0 win over Lithuania, with reports claiming the Championship club are now seeking greater compensation for the former Under-21 international.

He has scored three goals in eight appearances for the Merseysiders in all competitions this term and there is a possibility his progress could lead to increased add-ons in the deal set by the tribunal.
