Luton Town 1 - 1 York City : Stubborn York end Luton's winning streak

Luton's run of four straight Sky Bet League Two victories ended as they were held to a 1-1 draw by a stubborn York at Kenilworth Road.

The hosts had an early chance when Cameron McGeehan shot straight at Scott Flinders, while Craig Mackail-Smith had an even better opportunity but he failed to hit the target from 15 yards.

Luke Guttridge saw his close range toe poke turned behind by Flinders as it took York 20 minutes to register an attempt, Russell Penn firing over.

The visitors were ahead after 37 minutes when Penn's free-kick was flicked down in the box for Keith Lowe to prod into the roof of the net.

After the break Josh McQuoid volleyed over the bar from 20 yards.

The Hatters won a penalty just after the hour as Penn fouled Dan Potts in the area and McGeehan slammed home the spot kick.

Luke Wilkinson almost made it 2-1 moments later but his point blank header was brilliantly tipped over by Flinders.

Penn almost had York back in front when he was narrowly wide with an effort from 20 yards.

The midfielder then put a left-foot shot off target from a decent position but neither side could find a winner.
