Sheffield United defender Chris Basham will return to contention for the home game against Rochdale.

Basham missed the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy win against Notts County through suspension after reaching five yellow cards.

Boss Nigel Adkins made four changes on Tuesday night and must decide whether to retain striker Matt Done, who scored in his first start of the season having been sidelined with a broken collarbone.

Mark Howard is hoping to return in goal in place of George Long, but midfielder Ryan Flynn (groin) and defender David Edgar (hamstring) both remain doubtful.

Rochdale pair Andy Cannon and Rhys Bennett are both injury doubts after being forced out of the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy win against Chesterfield.

Boss Keith Hill made five changes in midweek and must decide whether to retain Ashley Eastham, Scott Tanser, Matthew Lund, Lewis Alessandra and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing after describing his side's display as outstanding.

Defender Olly Lancashire is expected to return after missing out on Tuesday night due to a knock, while Tom Kennedy, Joe Rafferty, Jamie Allen and Calvin Andrew are all hoping to return.

Hill expects more consistency from his play-off challengers as Dale have won three and lost three in their last six matches.
