Everton midfielder Tom Cleverley was threatened at his home on Friday night as four robbers made away with some of his valuables.
The England international, who is currently on the mend after sustaining ankle ligament damage last month, was home with his baby daughter and her nanny when the incident occurred.
A quartet of masked men broke through the front door of his house near Altrincham and forced Cleverley to take them to his safe, where he handed over two watches worth an estimated £60,000.
There are contradicting reports as to whether Cleverley's soapie star wife, Georgina Dorsett, was also present at the time.
A statement from Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 8pm on Friday October 2, police were called to an address in Hale Barns following a report of a break-in.
"Officers attended and discovered a man, a woman and an infant who had been the victims of an aggravated burglary.
"None of the victims were injured. An investigation was subsequently launched and is ongoing."
