Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama insists his failed move to Tottenham is "forgotten" as he looks to focus on a bright future on the south coast.
The Kenya international had attracted interest from Spurs during the off-season transfer window after impressing for the Saints over the past two years.
However, no bid was forthcoming from the north London club and their Premier League rivals were reluctant to sell anyway, with Wanyama continuing his career at St Mary's.
The 24-year-old had been left out of Ronald Koeman's squad for the game against Norwich on August 30 due to not being "mentally and physically good enough to play", with transfer deadline day looming.
But Wanyama admits that nightmare saga is now behind him and is determined to help the Saints challenge further up the table this season.
Commenting on the transfer that never materialised, he said: "I just don't want to remember that situation. Now I've forgotten what happened.
"I'm now progressing at my club and it's been good, so I'm looking forward to putting in good performances."
