Ronaldinho is anything but all smiles when posing for this selfie

It has not been the best of weeks for Ronaldinho, and doesn't this picture just show it?

The legendary Brazil and former Barcelona star, 35, saw an unsuccessful spell with Fluminense, where he failed to find the back of the net or provide a single assist in nine games, end when his contract was terminated.

And since then the 2002 World Cup winner has gone on to roll a rather expensive looking car into a ditch.

How awful.

However, it was from this unfortunate moment where one opportunist football fan chanced his luck, and the result was this rather awkward, yet brilliant, selfie with the player.

Although looking a touch dazed and confused given what has just happened, Ronaldinho willfully poses for the photograph, yet can only muster up the image of man who is quite clearly down on his luck (can you blame him?)

Despite what has happened, though, the 2004 and 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year (now known as the Ballon d'Or), does eventually manage to pluck up a smile when collared for another picture and life, albeit temporarily, appears well again.

Fair play.
