Port Vale vs Oldham preview - Inniss out for Port Vale

Port Vale will be without Ryan Inniss against Oldham.

The on-loan Crystal Palace centre-half suffered a dislocated shoulder during the win at Fleetwood on Saturday and has returned to his parent club for treatment and to be assessed. Remie Streete is expected to return to the starting line-up in Inniss' absence.

Jak McCourt has returned to Leicester at the end of his loan spell but Vale have sufficient cover in midfield now that Michael Brown is fit again after a heel injury.

Michael O'Connor is also returning to fitness and could be just a couple of weeks away from first-team contention as he recovers from the knee injury he suffered in pre-season.

Oldham striker Jonathan Forte could be out for the rest of the year after undergoing a knee operation.

Last season's top scorer had surgery last week and interim manager David Dunn is not expecting to have him back until January at the earliest.

On-loan Celtic defender Eoghan O'Connell misses the trip with torn thigh muscle which will keep him out for a number of weeks.

Captain Liam Kelly lasted an hour of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Wigan after returning from a knee injury and Dunn may consider whether to give him a second start in three days.
