After being beaten by a 65-yard lob from Alessandro Florenzi in the Champions League and misjudging the flight in Levante's consolation goal this weekend, media and fans alike have highlighted their concern over his technique.
"[Levante's goal came from] defensive confusion," the 23-year old told Movistar.
"I'm not thinking about Rome or my place in the team. It's your job to think and talk about it.
"Of course [I'll continue playing the way I do]. Why do I have to change? Everything's going well."
After joining the Catalans from Borussia Mönchengladbach for 12 million Euros last season, Ter Stegen has so far as understudy to Claudio Bravo but is being given a run in the first team following an injury to the Chilean.
