Luke Shaw has taken to social media to pay tribute to the doctors and nurses who looked after following his operation on his broken leg this week.
The Manchester United starlet suffered a double fracture to his right leg during the Red Devils’ 2-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The defender remained in the Netherlands and underwent surgery to correct the problem and is now set to be sidelined for a period of months.
And the 20-year-old used his Instagram account to pay tribute to the care he received at the hospital as he now turns his attentions to getting back fit again, with the England international set to fly back to Manchester on Saturday.
Shaw posted the pictures above on the photo-sharing app and wrote: “I just wanna say a massive thank you to everyone at St Anna hospital for all the care and attention they have given me the last few days.
''Something I will never forget! Am pleased to be flying back to Manchester today so I can start my journey back onto the football pitch!”
Manchester United return to Premier League action when they take on Shaw’s former club Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils head into the clash in second place in the table.
