Bolton vs Sheffield Wednesday preview - Neil Danns set to miss Bolton's clash with Sheffield Wednesday

Neil Danns is unlikely to play for Bolton against Sheffield Wednesday at the Macron Stadium.

The Guyana international midfielder came off in the second half of the 2-1 victory over Wolves on Saturday having taken a blow to the head and, after being knocked unconscious, is unlikely to feature just three days later.

Defender Dorian Dervite is free from suspension but sustained ligament damage in training last week and will miss a week or two so Derik Osede and Prince-Desir Gouano will continue at the heart of Wanderers' defence.

David Wheater (Achilles), Darren Pratley (knee) and Max Clayton (ankle) are all still sidelined for Neil Lennon's men.

Sheffield Wednesday teenager Joe Wildsmith will continue in goal in place of Keiren Westwood.

Wildsmith made his first league start in Saturday's defeat at Burnley and head coach Carlos Carvalhal confirmed the 19-year-old will retain his place as Westwood is still recovering from a side strain.

Defender Daniel Pudil, striker Fernando Forestieri and midfielder Barry Bannan all made their Owls debuts at the weekend and are expected to start again.

Another recent signing, defender Michael Turner, is hoping to make his first start, while midfielder Jose Semedo and defender Jeremy Helan are among those pushing for recalls.
