MARIO BALOTELLI has been told he's too fat by new boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Italian striker returned to the San Siro last month on a loan deal until the end of the season.

He endured a disastrous first season at Liverpool following a £16m move last summer - scoring just four goals for Brendan Rodgers' side.

Balotelli has been praised for his attitude since returning to Serie A by Milan chief Adriano Galliani.

But his manager has warned the striker that there is still plenty of work to be done.

OVERWEIGHT: Balotelli has been told to trim down

"He's not played for a while and he still has to improve," Mihajlovic told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"He's training well and his physical tests are satisfactory, but he's three kilogrammes overweight: he's on a diet and when he's ready he will play."

Galliani added: "His fitness is improving, physically he's in a good place and he can do what he wants when he has the ball."
