Man Utd release new statement on David De Gea

Manchester United have released a statement to Associated Press journalist Rob Harris that Real Madrid are trying to shift the focus away from their “clumsiness” following their failed David De Gea transfer.
The De Gea to Real saga dragged on for the entire summer and ultimately it came right down to the final minutes of the window with both clubs supposedly failing to submit their documentation in time.
What has since occurred is a fairly pathetic war of words as the relationship between the two European giants continues to break down.
Man United told Rob Harris, as per his official Facebook account: "The facts speak for themselves. The FA are prepared to back our case that documents were in on time; Real seem intent to move the focus away from their own clumsiness this summer.
"We all like to blame others but if you let one slip through your fingers into the back of the net, then ultimately the culpability is yours."
David De Gea made 78 saves in the Premier League last season.
Yesterday evening, Real president Florentino Perez criticised the delay in United sending over their documents and it is no surprise that United have now decided to hit back.
It is currently unclear whether or not De Gea is going to sign a new deal with United but it does seem as if he is going to be given the chance to win his place back in the first team.
At the moment, that position is occupied by Sergio Romero who started the season well but struggled in the recent 2-1 defeat to Swansea City.
Should De Gea decide not to sign a new deal then of course he will be able to join Real next summer on a free transfer.
