Stranraer manager Brian Reid will face a late call over the fitness of three players as he prepares his squad to face Brechin.

Ryan Thomson, Craig Malcolm and Mark McGuigan all face fitness tests with Reid saying: "That trio are a big part of our armoury so I would like to have them available.

"Brechin will be coming to our place determined to get their first win however we are really determined to get out first home league success of the season.

"A disappointing start against Dunfermline cost us last weekend so we need to be on top of things from the first whistle."

Brechin player/ manager Darren Dods will take on a managerial role only if Ross Perry is passed fit to play, while striker David Weatherston could also return after a knock.

Further good news sees goalkeeper Graeme Smith return to action after a two-match ban however Paul McLean remains out with a hip injury and Dene Shields' foot problem sees him sidelined.

Dods said: "We have to ensure that we give ourselves a platform to win this game. Too often this season we have fallen behind early and not been able to impose ourselves on games.

"Hopefully we can avoid doing that at Stranraer and give ourselves a chance."
