Ayr Utd. 2 - 2 Forfar Athletic : Travis nets late leveller for Forfar
Posted Sunday, August 30, 2015 by PA
Leaders Forfar left it late as Michael Travis' stoppage-time strike rescued a 2-2 draw at Ayr in Scottish League One.
Jordan Preston missed an early chance for the hosts, heading over the bar before team-mate Craig Moore snatched at a shot, pulling his effort wide of the target.
Loanee Lewis Allan put the visitors ahead in the 26th minute against the run of play, firing across goal into the bottom corner - his first goal in his third appearance for Ayr since joining from Hibs.
Moore levelled for Ian McCall's men on the stroke of half-time, a well-controlled volley beating stopper Robert Douglas.
Ayr carried their momentum into the second half, as they were quick out of the blocks pressing for a second before Alan Forrest eventually found an opening, shaping a low shot into the bottom corner.
Forfar's equaliser came in the final moments as Travis converted from close range following Iain Campbell's free-kick.
