Karim Benzema could be forced out of Real Madrid
Arsenal have received a further boost in their pursuit of Karim Benzema after it emerged that Real Madrid are targeting Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports.
The Gunners had been given faint hope that their move for Benzema could be revived after reports broke concerning Madrid’s move for Lewandowski.
Since then it has been reported that Ibrahimovic is also on Real president Florentino Perez’s radar as he hunts for a new big-name striker.
The Paris St Germain attacker certainly fits the bill but it remains to be seen if the French giants would let him leave.
Benzema had previously insisted that he had no intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu and was vocal about his plans to stay.
Ibrahimovic only has one year left on his contract
But with Madrid’s president seemingly chasing a new centre-forward and targeting some of Europe’s finest attackers, Benzema may have no choice but to leave, according to Fichajes.net.
The Frenchman would guarantee first team football at Arsenal, which he may struggle to do if Ibrahimovic or Lewandowski arrive in Madrid.
