Plymouth Argyle vs Newport County preview - Threlkeld set to make Plymouth debut against Newport

On-loan defender Oscar Threlkeld is set to make his Plymouth debut when they host Newport.

The 20-year-old completed his short-term move from Bolton on Thursday and will make his first appearance of the season if he is selected by Derek Adams.

The Pilgrims boss is unlikely to make many changes after back-to-back wins moved his side up to third in Sky Bet League Two.

Reuben Reid (hamstring) was forced off in the early stages of last week's win at Northampton but is expected to feature, along with Gregg Wylde (thigh).

Newport, without a league win this season, could be boosted by the return of midfielder Alex Rodman and striker Lenell John-Lewis for the trip to Devon.

Rodman has missed the last three games due to a calf muscle problem, while John-Lewis has not featured since suffering a hamstring strain against opening weekend opponents Cambridge.

"Alex Rodman and Lenell John-Lewis are back in full training, Nathan Ralph is not far away, and we've had Andrew Hughes joining in training as well," County manager Terry Butcher told www.southwalesargus.co.uk.

"There are less in the treatment room than there have been before, and that is a boost for everyone."
