Martinez confident of Stones stay

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is confident young defender John Stones will remain at the club this season despite intense interest from champions Chelsea.
Highly-rated Stones has been one of the Toffees' best players since making his debut in 2013 and has looked impressive once more this campaign, starting all of the club's opening three Premier League games.
The 21-year-old's performances have seen him heavily linked with a move to Champions Chelsea, but Martinez insists Stones remains very much central to his plans and does not believe he will leave before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
"Of course," Martinez told Liverpool Echo when asked if he expected Stones to stay. "That’s the plan. We have enjoyed his development, and we have seen him grow so much in the last two seasons.
"What we want to do is be as strong as we can when the window closes. We have our own aims, our own objectives. We want to become a winning team and that (Stones) is part of our future."
