Morton and 10-man St Mirren played out a feisty 0-0 draw in the Renfrewshire derby.
In the first league meeting between the sides in over 15 years, both sides had their chances but ultimately saw their respective winless starts to the Championship campaign continue.
The hosts could not take advantage of playing 35 minutes against 10 men after Luke Conlan saw red for a bad tackle on Bobby Barr.
St Mirren's Steven Thompson had a goal chalked off for a foul on goalkeeper Derek Gaston after seven minutes while Jamie Langfield produced a fine save to deny Barr at the other end.
Following Conlan's dismissal, Langfield kept his side in the game by stopping Peter MacDonald's swerving effort.
St Mirren could have nicked it late on but Jim Goodwin's stoppage-time free-kick was punched clear by substitute keeper Grant Adam.
