Rochdale vs Walsall preview - Dale sweating on Kennedy

Posted Tuesday, August 18, 2015 by PA

Tom Kennedy is a doubt for Rochdale ahead of the visit of Walsall.

The full-back had to be withdrawn after only 13 minutes of Saturday's win at Blackpool after sustaining a knock in a challenge with former Dale man Jack Redshaw. Kennedy will be assessed ahead of Tuesday night.

Andy Cannon has sat out the last two matches with the injury he suffered against Peterborough on the opening day of the season and he will remain on the sidelines, although Rochdale boss Keith Hill expects the 19-year-old to return to the squad at the weekend.

After watching the first three games of the season from the bench, summer signing Lewis Alessandra will hope to finally make his debut.

Walsall boss Dean Smith is set to stick with the same team which brushed aside Southend on Saturday.

The Saddlers won 2-0 at Roots Hall to continue their unbeaten start to the season and head to Spotland with two wins from three games.

Adam Chambers came through the game without any problems despite picking up a knee injury last week and is fit.

Milan Lalkovic and Kieron Morris are continuing to push to start and are options for Smith.
