Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez says he is 'very proud' to play at the KingPower Stadium and is thrilled with the Foxes' 4-2 opening-day win over Sunderland.
The Frenchman netted twice in the first 25 minutes as Claudio Ranieri's men got their Premier League campaign off to the best possible start, with Mahrez and Jamie Vardy cancelling out Jermain Defoe and Steven Fletcher's goals for the Black Cats.
Mahrez admits he thought about the possibility of a hat-trick, but remains very pleased with the state of the Leicester squad and is confident they will have a good follow up season in the Premier League.
"We have to carry on," he told Foxes Player. "When I'm playing in this stadium it's like I'm flying. I'm very proud and glad to win the game.
"When you score two goals in the first 25 minutes you think in your head 'maybe the hat-trick'.
"I wasn't selfish, I was thinking about the team and if it came it came. It didn't but I'm really happy. We have to keep going like this and we did very well."
