The former Manchester United manager was famous for blasting the millionaire stars if their performances were not up to scratch.

And ex-England defender Gary Neville, who is now a Sky TV pundit, has revealed 73-year-old Fergie phones to criticise his telly performances.

Once he called and raged at bemused Gary: “What the hell are you doing on that television, Neville?”

Gary, 40, was one of many players on the receiving end of Fergie’s rants during his 27 years as Old Trafford boss.

David Beckham, 40, ended up being hit in the face by a boot after one dressing room row.

Neville tried to steer clear of the line of fire during his time with United.

But he revealed: “Our biggest row was when I reacted angrily to him on the touchline against Lille in the Champions League.

“I didn’t play for two weeks after that.”

Another time Fergie screamed at him: “What the f*** were you playing at out there?”
