Manchester United look set to continue their squad overhaul by offloading out-of-favour right-back Rafael Da Silva. The Brazilian was highly rated under the regime of Sir Alex Ferguson and was tipped to follow in the footsteps of Gary Neville and become the club's new long-term right-back at Old Tafford.
However, a succesion of injury problems and lack of defensive discipline have led the 25-year old's career to stall in recent seasons.
With Rafael having only one year left on his current deal and being rated as the 4th choice right-back behind Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian and potentially Phil Jones, he wouldn't demand a high transfer fee.
His agent, Cassiano Pereira, admitted Olympique Lyonnais and two clubs in Turkey were in negotiations with his client.
Lyon have expressed a strong interest in bringing the attacking full-back to Stade de Gerland in a bid to strengthen their squad as they look to challenge PSG for the Ligue 1 title this season and, according to L'Equipe, the deal could be finalised before the start of the new campaign.
