Jon Flanagan appears to be stepping up his rehabilitation from injury although the Liverpool defender won’t be ready in time for the new Premier League season.
The England Under-21 full-back hasn’t featured for the Merseyside outfit since the 2013/14 campaign after he suffered a serious knee injury last summer.
Flanagan underwent an operation on his knee in April which will keep the 22-year-old sidelined for the next five to eight months.
But the Liverpool youngster has made something of a comeback in the gym after he posted a photo from a session on a bike on his Instagram page on Thursday morning.
Flanagan posted the above photo and wrote: “Early morning bike session. #highaltitude”
The Liverpool defender was on standby for Roy Hodgson’s England squad for this summer’s World Cup after a series of impressive performances for the Reds.
Flanagan, who was part of the Reds’s League Cup-winning squad in 2012, scored one goal in 25 Premier League appearances last season.
