PRE-SEASON CHAT WITH RAFA BENITEZ - Casillas and Ramos drop by

On Thursday afternoon, Casillas and Ramos both showed up at Real Madrid's training facility at the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas.

Both team captains were invited there by Rafa Benítez as part of his team presentation talk prior to their routine medicals on Friday, after which the pre-season warm up will get under way.

There was considerable expectation surrounding the meeting, especially given the fact that Casillas is on the verge of signing for Porto and Ramos's future remains uncertain, the latter having made it clear he wants to leave the club. The presence of Casillas had more to do with the keeper's wish to say his goodbyes to his teammates ahead of his imminent exit.

In Ramos's case, the defender will sit down to talks with Benítez, who will try and iron out any differences between player and club. Real Madrid are keen to give the new coach a chance to have a man-to-man chat with Ramos in an attempt to smooth things over with the player and put a lid on the matter once and for all.

Nearly all the Real players turned up for this first meeting, although not present were Ronaldo, James, Casemiro, Modric and Kroos.
