The Manchester City man was reported to have asked Gunners boss Arsene Wenger if there was any chance of a return to North London.

But he took to Twitter to refute claims made in a report last Thursday.

"Never asked anyone to comeback!! Really happy where i am right now so stop with your silly story," he said.

The French international left Arsenal to join City in 2011 after making 125 appearances under Wenger.

He played a significant role in City's two Premier League title-winning campaigns but found himself on the bench for large parts of last season.

The attacking midfielder struggled to fit into Manuel Pellegrini's preferred 4-4-2 formation and was reported to be unsettled in Manchester.

The story claimed Wenger told the 28-year-old that a reunion was not on the cards as his squad was full and he would be surplus to requirements at the Emirates.

Arsenal continue to be linked with other midfielders, with Arturo Vidal and Morgan Schneiderlin thought to be targets.

Tomas Rosicky has been linked with a return to Czech Republic, which could free up some space for new faces.
