Manchester United round-up: Turan deal agreed, Nani to leave in days

It is a big summer for Manchester United and Louis van Gaal who has money to spend in order to make his squad competitive for the Premier League and for their return to the Champions League.

Plenty of big names have been linked to Old Trafford over the past few months and things are hotting up as the Red Devils prepare to return for pre-season on Monday.

Here’s a round-up of the club’s latest transfer gossip.

Manchester United a €7 million away from reaching a deal to sign Morgan Schneiderlin. The Southampton star had a great season for Ronald Koeman’s side but could well have played his final game for the club having won the most tackles for the Saints last season (79). (Tutto Mercato Web)

Man United insist they will only sell David de Gea to Real Madrid if they receive a bid matching their £35 million valuation. The goalkeeper was fantastic last season as he made the PFA Team of the Season with some stunning performances throughout the campaign. De Gea kept 11 clean sheets for the Red Devils. (Mirror)

Liverpool and Man Utd target Nicolas Gaitan has revealed that he’s ‘good at Benfica’ amid transfer talk suggesting otherwise. The winger has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer but it seems he may be staying in Portugal. Gaitan created 10 chances in the Champions League last season. (Daily Star)

Manchester United target Lucas Biglia is in talks with Italian giants Lazio over extending his current contract. The midfielder has been linked to Old Trafford but looks set to stay and become one of the best paid players at Lazio. He completed 88% of his passes last season. (Express)

The Red Devils will offer central defender Jonny Evans to Everton as bait in their pursuit of Seamus Coleman. The central defender was poor last season and committed the most defensive errors, with four, at Man Utd. (Daily Star)

Arda Turan has an “already close deal with Manchester Utd” but he still wants to sign for Chelsea this summer. The Atletico Madrid midfielder is keen to leave this summer despite being so key to Diego Simeone’s side over the past couple of years. He did only score two goals in La Liga last season, though. Turan is valued at €41m. (AS)

Finally, Nani is set to finally leave Man United on Sunday after Turkish giants Fenerbahce confirmed the creative midfielder will travel to Istanbul to have his medical over the weekend. He spent last season on loan with Sporting Lisbon where he scored four goals in five Champions League appearances. (Mirror)
