Inter Milan accept €17m offer from Stoke for Xherdan Shaqiri

On Wednesday afternoon, respected and reliable Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio Tweeted that Inter Milan had accepted a 17 million euro offer from Stoke for Xherdan Shaqiri.
According to Di Marzio, it is now up to Shaqiri to decide whether he wants to make the move from the San Siro to The Britannia Stadium.
Despite a poor spell at the Nerazzurri and having failed to make the grade at Bayern Munich, Shaqiri is 23 and still has plenty of potential.
After all, just a year ago, Shaqiri was scoring a hat-trick at the World Cup!
It seems far from certain that Shaqiri will move to Stoke but its not quite as fanciful as many would suggest.
Shaqiri would simply be swapping one mid-table club in Serie A for a mid-table side in England. Neither Inter Milan or Stoke will be playing European football next season.
There is so much money in the Premier League now that Shaqiri to Stoke or Yohan Cabaye to Crystal Palace type moves are a real possibility.
Stoke would fancy their chances with a hungry Shaqiri alongside a fit-again Bojan Krkic in attacking midfield positions…
