Morgan Schneiderlin will complete a move to Manchester United on Monday after agreeing a four year contract with the club, according to reports in France.
The Southampton midfielder revealed earlier this week that he was anticipating completing a move away from St.Mary's before the start of pre-season, and it appears as though he is on his way to Old Trafford.
According to L'Equipe, Manchester United and Southampton are putting the final touches on a deal worth around €30 million, or £24 million, and that it could be finalised and announced within the next 24 hours. Arsenal were previously thought to be the favourites in the race to sign the French international, while Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in him.
French journalist Philippe Auclair claimed last night that Schneiderlin actually favoured a move to Arsenal, but problems between his representatives and the Gunners have put paid to the deal.
It remains unclear for now where that leaves the Red Devils' move for Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German international is in the last year of his contract and has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but the move for Schneiderlin would make it seem as though that deal is dead in the water.
