Sevilla coach Unai Emery claims he rejected offers from West Ham and Napoli to extend his contract with the Europa League winners.

Emery: I rejected West Ham

The former Valencia boss joined the Andalusian club in January 2013 and has since guided them to back-to-back Europa League titles and fifth place finishes in La Liga.

The 43-year-old said the prospect of leading his side in this season's Champions League made it impossible for him to leave the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán despite receiving a "very sizeable economic" offer to join the Hammers.

"Which coach or player has the possibility to play in the finals? Few. I start training on July 6 and I already have the European Super Cup against Barcelona," he said in an interview published in Spanish daily newspaper El Pais.

"And then we will play in the Champions (League). Sevilla gives me this possibility. Moreover, we have managed to create a culture of work at all levels.

"Napoli offered me a project with economic strength but without the Champions (League). And I had a nice option from West Ham, a very sizeable economic."

Emery signed a 12-month contract extension at Sevilla earlier this month after leading them to the Europa League title for a second straight year.

As winners of that competition, Sevilla will automatically play in the Champions League in the upcoming season.
