Liverpool set to sign Southampton right back Nathaniel Clyne for £12.5m

The transfer news just keeps coming for Liverpool.

After a very poor end to the 2014/2015 season, Liverpool needed reinforcements and it looks very likely that they will bring in six new players before the summer transfer window has officially opened!

Having brought in Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino, Liverpool have now set their sights on a new right back in Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne.

With Glen Johnson having left Anfield and Javier Manquillo also expected to depart, Brendan Rodgers was in need of a right back and Clyne has long been linked with Liverpool.

Reliable Times journalist Tony Barrett Tweeted that Liverpool have improved their offer for Clyne, who has impressed over recent seasons and established himself as a full England international.

The Daily Telegraph take things a step further and claim that Liverpool’s move for Clyne is "almost done."

Considering how poor Liverpool’s backline has been under Brendan Rodgers, there will likely be relief when Clyne does officially sign on at Anfield.

Southampton appear to have already prepared for Clyne’s exit by bringing in Cedric Soares from Sporting Lisbon.
