The Belgium international defender has drawn admiring glances for his performances while on loan at Southampton and hopes to have his future sorted out soon
Toby Alderweireld says that he is unsure if Chelsea are one of the teams chasing his signature but is keen to resolve his future quickly.
The Belgium international had an impressive season on loan at Southampton from Atletico Madrid but is set to return to the Spanish club after his country's Euro 2016 qualifier against Wales on Friday.
The Saints have an agreement in place to sign Alderweireld permanently for €9 million - with Ronald Koeman optimistic about the possibility of a deal - but Atleti could cancel that for a €2.3m fee and then sell to the highest bidder.
Manchester City are keen on a deal for the versatile defender while Tottenham and, recently, Chelsea have both also been linked.
"We will see what happens. The season is not over - after the last game I will know more," Alderweireld told Sky Sports of links to the Blues.
"I hope a decision is going to be made quickly because otherwise it goes on all summer and I want to know quick where I am playing next year.
"I don't know if [Chelsea] are interested. I read it in the press. We'll see what is coming up and I will make the right decision.
"Now I go back to Spain, I think. That is the option now and we will see if clubs are coming and I will see what is a good decision for me."
"Barca are the world's biggest club. Above Barca, there's nothing. My friends ask me what it's like and I tell them it's amazing. You can't explain it."
