The Barcelona midfielder has lauded both the Argentine and Xavi and says Luis Enrique has done amazing work
Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic claims he would willingly run himself into the ground in order to help unique team-mate Lionel Messi.
Rakitic, who joined last summer from Europa League winners Sevilla, has enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign with the Catalans and scored in the Champions League final as they completed the treble.
The Croatia international formed a much-lauded midfield trio which allowed Barca's attacking trident of Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar to shine, and he admits he has no qualms about battling on the Argentine's behalf.
"I don't think we'll ever see anyone like Leo. If you have to run 10,000 metres for him and hurt your back, you do it," he told 'Al Primer Toque'.
Rakitic also paid tribute to Xavi, who is moving to Qatar to join Al Sadd.
"It's been a pleasure, I'm very proud to have shared a dressing room with him," he said. "I don't need to explain what Xavi is for us. I've learned so much from him and I thank him for what he's done on and off the pitch."
The former Basel youngster went on to hail Luis Enrique for his own performance in his first season as head coach of the club, adding that being part of the club is unlike anything else.
"It's not easy to be Barca coach and the work Luis Enrique and his team have done is amazing," added the 27-year-old.
