Christian Eriksen: “I haven’t thought about leaving” Tottenham

Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen has revealed that he hasn’t “thought about leaving” White Hart Lane this summer following another successful campaign in North London, as reported by Goal.

The Danish international arrived at Spurs two years ago from Ajax, and has become a key player for them as they continue to chase that elusive top four finish, and subsequent qualification into the Champions League.

However, after missing out again last season, and with rumours of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris potentially leaving White Hart Lane this summer, as reported by the website, Eriksen has been quick to allay Spurs’ fans fears that he could be seeking a move as well when the transfer window opens.

Speaking to Ritzau, as reported by Goal, Eriksen said of his future: “I feel right at home at Tottenham. I haven’t thought about leaving yet. I still have three years on my current deal so I’m not in a big rush to leave the club.”

The 23-year-old had another stand-out season for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, scoring ten goals and creating 83 chances in 38 appearances, with a shot accuracy of 45% and an average pass accuracy of 82%.

Spurs finished the Premier League campaign in fifth place on 64 points, six adrift of Manchester United in fourth and two ahead of Liverpool in sixth, earning automatic qualification into next season’s Europa League.

Pochettino’s men also featured in the Capital One Cup final earlier this year, but lost out to champions Chelsea 2-0 at Wembley.
