Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to walk away from Real Madrid according to reports in Spain.
The Portuguese superstar ended the season as La Liga's top scorer but that didn't help Madrid secure any silverware after they missed out on the title to Barcelona.
Spanish newspaper Sport say that finishing as runners-up, as well as manager Carlo Ancelotti's sacking and his impending replacement by Rafa Benitez, has prompted Ronaldo to think twice about his future.
The 30-year-old has been linked with a return to Manchester United for some time now, and Madrid's travails this season could impact on his decision. Under Ancelotti Real Madrid claimed a record 10th European crown last year, but were knocked out of the Champions League by Juventus at the semi-final stage earlier this month.
The Italian boss was subsequently let go by club president Florentino Perez despite Ronaldo's public support for him, and with reports suggesting the Benitez will be named as his surprise replacement the former Manchester United man is said to be considering his options.
