Matheus collapses during Europa League final
The midfielder suffered a blow to the head in the late stages of the game against Sevilla and fell to the ground shortly afterwards

Dnipro midfielder Matheus collapsed during the Europa League final against Sevilla and had to be stretchered off.

The midfielder clashed heads with Sevilla's Benoit Tremoulinas in the late stages of Thursday's encounter and shortly afterwards, tumbled to the ground with no one around him.

Metheus was quickly surrounded by concerned team-mates as he lay on the ground before medical help arrived.

The player was quickly taken off the field on a stretcher with what appeared to be a concussion.

Dnipro coach Myron Markevych said after the game that the 32-year-old was in fine condition.

"As far as I know, it looks like he is ok," he told reporters.

The incident was a dark cloud over the game, which Sevilla won 3-2 to retain their Europa League title, winning the competition for the fourth time - more than any other team in Europe.
