AC Milan vs Torino preview - Inzaghi hopes for positive finale

Embattled AC Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi wants his final appearance at the San Siro this season to be a positive one on Sunday against Torino.

Inzaghi is widely tipped to leave Milan this summer after just one year in charge, with reports in Italy linking Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti with a return to the San Siro this summer.

Ancelotti, one of Milan's most successful coaches, left the club in the summer of 2009 to join Chelsea and is now on shaky ground at Real Madrid after a campaign with no trophies.

Inzaghi is not thinking about Ancelotti or anyone else replacing him.

"I have a contract with Milan until June 2016 and I am honoured to be here," Inzaghi said to the Italian press. "I am tied to Milan and I hope to stay because I have a lot more to give."

Milan have won just one and lost four of their last seven games.

Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Sassuolo ended Milan's faint hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.

The Rossoneri are 11th in the standings with two games remaining in a campaign that has been plagued by inconsistency.

Of their 36 league games so far, the Rossoneri have won 11 while losing 12.

AC Milan will be without midfielders Giacomo Bonaventura and Jesus Suso as well as team's leading scorer Jeremy Menez, who are all suspended this weekend.

Torino beat Chievo 2-0 in the last round to climb to ninth place and keep their hopes of playing in the Europa League next season alive.

The Granata are seven points adrift of fifth-placed Fiorentina, who hold the last European qualifying spot.

"It's going to be tough to finish in the top six but you can never say never," Toro coach Giampiero Ventura said. "We cannot make any mistakes in our next two games and we have to hope that the teams above us slip.

"Whatever happens, I'm very proud of my players.

"They've had a solid campaign."

Toro travel to the San Siro without Serbian defender Nikola Maksimovic, who must serve a one-match ban.

Moreover, Swedish midfielder Alexander Farnerud has been ruled out for six months after suffering a serious knee injury at the weekend.
