Stade Rennais FC vs Lyonnais preview - Lacazette happy at Lyon

Alexandre Lacazette insists he is ready to stay at Lyon after being voted Ligue 1 Player of the Year.

The striker has scored 27 goals in 33 games but is suspended for the trip to Rennes on Saturday.

He has outgunned Paris St Germain superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic this season although Lyon are second, losing out on the title to PSG.

Lacazette has been linked with a move from the Stade Municipal but he admitted he may not have played his last game for the club.

"I'm a Lyon player for now, and I'm happy, but in football anything can happen," Lacazette said. "I think I'll stay.

"I have taken a step forward this season.

"I've been given more responsibility; certain experienced players left and everyone at the club showed faith in me and helped me to grow."

Lacazette follows the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Eden Hazard in winning Player of the Year and the 23-year-old revealed his pride.

"It's an honour, a proud moment for me. I've always dreamed of winning trophies like this one and writing my name in to the French football history books," he told Ligue1.com.

"I want to thank my team-mates, those who work with me and support me every day."

Clinton Njie, Clement Grenier and Christophe Jallet are doubtful for Lyon.

Ninth-placed Rennes have lost their last two games but head coach Philippe Montanier signed a new deal until 2019 on Wednesday.

"In putting my faith in Philippe Montanier, I'm committing to a long-term collaboration. In the past, a lack of stability has often been the undoing of Stade Rennais FC," chairman Rene Ruello told the club's official site. "In football, you can't afford to become the victim of your own impatience.

"Even though it hasn't been plain sailing this season, I'm satisfied by what Mr Montanier and his staff have achieved."
