Brad Friedel: Tottenham will not sell Harry Kane in the summer

Brad Friedel has insisted that Tottenham will not sell Harry Kane to Manchester United in the summer, as per TalkSPORT.

The England international has scored 30 goals for the North London side this season and is believed to be one of United's main targets for the striker role come next season.

The Red Devils are on the verge of preparing a £45 million bid for the services of the England forward but Friedel, who is leaving the club in the summer, believes that there is no way the 21-year-old is going to be leaving White Hart Lane at the end of the season.

"I wouldn't want him to leave Tottenham just yet," he said, "He's signed a contract extension already. I just cannot see Tottenham selling Harry Kane."

It has been quite a turnaround for the England player who started the season as Spurs third choice striker behind Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, but a return of 20 goals in the league from 32 appearances has seen him rise catastrophically and was rewarded with a new five-and-a-half-year contract worth £45,000 a week.

He is currently the second highest goal scorer and is behind only Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and was nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award which he lost to Eden Hazard, but won the the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

United are on the market for a striker after the disappointment of their loan signing Radamel Falcao and even though they have signed Memphis Depay, they are believed to be in the market to add more firepower to their squad and Kane's youth and familiarity with the English game makes him an ideal transfer target.
