Forfar vs Stranraer preview - Forfar turn to youth

Michael Kennedy has been promoted from the Forfar under-20 squad to their first team for the first leg of their play-off with Stranraer.

The-18 year-old could start due to a shortage of numbers as Mark Baxter is out with an ankle injury and Michael Dunlop is suspended.

Manager Dick Campbell will delay naming his side as Derek Young and Dale Hilson are injury doubts

Campbell said: "I will have no qualms about playing Michael as he has had a good season at under-20 level.

"Our games with Stranraer have been tight but if we can show a killer instinct in front of goal then we can get a first-leg lead."

Stranraer will have Frank McKeown and Jackson Longridge available after they missed out against Brechin at the weekend.

But a knee injury sees Grant Gallagher miss out, Chris Aitken is suspended and manager Stephen Aitken will give Craig Malcolm until close to kick-off time to shake off a knock picked up in training.

Aitken said: "This game will very much just be the first half and Saturday's second leg will be needed to split the teams. We might have lost the league however there is no disappointment from that remaining as we have had a very good season."

"Getting promoted via the play-offs would make it a great season."
