Thorgan Hazard: Eden wants to stay at Chelsea for a “long time”

Thorgan Hazard is adamant that his brother Eden is settled at Chelsea and wants to stay at Stamford Bridge for a “long time”, report the Express.

The Belgian winger scored yet another crucial goal for the Blues on Saturday afternoon as Jose Mourinho’s side edged past Crystal Palace and claimed the Premier League title for the fourth time in the club’s history.

Although the 24-year-old, who was recently named PFA Player of the Year, missed his original spot kick, but he readjusted his body superbly to direct a header past the clutches of Eagles goalkeeper Julian Speroni and into the net.

In truth, it was fitting that Hazard was the man to provide such a valuable contribution to the west Londoners, as he has been central to his club’s cause throughout the campaign.

Meanwhile, the forward’s future remains a constant source of speculation, despite the fact he signed a long-term deal in February.

However, Thorgan, who is currently plying his trade with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach, believes his sibling is simply focused on further success with Chelsea.

''He is really, really focused on Chelsea. He wants to win the Champions League there and now he has signed a new contract and enjoys England,” the 22-year-old said.

''Eden feels good in the Chelsea team and plays with good players. Eden is very happy and he is winning trophies. His family is settled, he’s enjoying his time, he has signed a new contract to stay for a long time,” the younger Hazard brother insisted.

Losing the services of Hazard, who is a contender to finally end Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s domination of the Ballon d’Or award in the future, is almost unthinkable for the Blues.

Mourinho would be able to command a huge transfer fee for his prize asset should he ever decide to leave the club but, for now, given that Chelsea are the best team in England, it is doubtful Hazard would even entertain such an idea.
