Liverpool and Tottenham could sign Marseille winger Andre Ayew on a free transfer if they offer him £42,000 a week wages, reports the Metro.
Tuttomercatoweb believe the Ghana international also has interest coming from Italy in the form of Inter Milan, Roma, and Napoli. However, the Premier League duo can beat the competition away by outspending them on the contract they offer. This is despite the player's father Abedi Pele currently being in the Southern European nation, the report claims.
Spurs are already considering a £60,000 a week deal for the 25-year-old according to the English publication, and this could tilt the balance in their direction. However, there is still time for the other sides to make a move, with Ayew's contract with the Ligue 1 club ending in the summer.
Both the North London club and the Reds need to reinforce their squads, as they both look very likely to fail in their quest to qualify for the Champions League this season. Were they to bring in some extra quality they could have a better chance next time round.
