Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt preview - Klopp treating all games the same

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp insists Saturday's clash with Eintracht Frankfurt is just as important as the trip to Bayern Munich in a DFB-Pokal semi-final next Tuesday.

The Westphalians have two chances to qualify for a place in the Europa League next season, but defeat in either of their next two games would end those dreams for good.

That is why Klopp wants to ensure victory on Saturday to keep both avenues still open before turning attentions to Bayern from Saturday night onwards.

"We would be stupid to put all our chips on the cup," Klopp said. "My lads are right on track and they want to leave a bit of a mark on the ending to the season."

Dortmund are currently six points behind the top six with five games of the season remaining and that gap cannot be allowed to grow if they are to qualify for Europe via their league placing.

Frankfurt have the same number of points as Dortmund, though, and they only have one route open into Europe next season, which is why they need to complete a league double over them to keep their own hopes alive.

"It's down to us," said their coach Thomas Schaaf. "Our destiny's in our own hands, if we want to improve our position.

"But Dortmund are also in form and they will certainly want to take some self-confidence into the Bayern game in the cup with them."

Frankfurt are again without their top scorer Alexander Meier, whose season is over due to injury, while Bastian Oczipka and Bamba Anderson are also out due to suspension.
