Wolfsburg and Napoli target Martin Skrtel closing in on new Liverpool deal

NEW DEAL: Skrtel is on the brink of penning a new Liverpool contract
MARTIN SKRTEL is on the brink of signing a contract extension at Liverpool.
Skrtel's current deal at Anfield has just over a year left to run and last week he claimed he was waiting on further talks in the summer.
But it now appears Skrtel is ready to put pen to paper sooner rather than later, with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers also boosted by the news Jordan Henderson is ready to commit his future to Anfield.
Despite reported interest from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and Italian outfit Napoli, Skrtel's agent, Karol Csonto, said: "The only offer which is lying on Martin Skrtel's table right now is the extension of his contract from Liverpool.
"We have been working on the details, and we will be finalising it soon."
* Liverpool have extended their shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered until 2019 which is believed to have increased to around £30m-a-year.
