Manchester City want Pep Guardiola to replace Pellegrini

Jurgen Klopp revealed on Wednesday that his time at Signal Iduna Park would come to an end as of July 1, with bookmakers drastically lowering the odds of the German taking over at Manchester City in the summer.

GUARDIOLA REMAINS NO.1

Many people have suggested that Klopp is heading to the Etihad after a disastrous season for the Citizens, leaving current coach Manuel Pellegrini hanging on to his job by a thread.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola still remains the City board's primary target, according to the Daily Mirror. However the one thing that the Premier League champions didn't want to hear, and have already heard, is that the Spaniard has stated that he desires to stay in Germany for at least one more season.

Despite this the Manchester giants have belief that they can lure the former Barcelona coach to England this summer.

POTENTIALLY BUSY SUMMER

If Pellegrini was to face the chop at City, as many expect, then this summer at the Etihad could be a busy one.

If City's board can't persuade Guardiola to swap Munich for Manchester then surely their next target would be Dortmund's outgoing boss Klopp, but current Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is also on their radar.

One thing that would help City's cause if they were to move for Klopp is the fact that the German has said in the past that he would like the chance to try his hand working in England. He is a world-class manager as he has shown at Dortmund by with winning two Bundesliga titles and reaching a Champions League final in his seven years in charge.

City fans, who would you like to have in charge come next season?
