Rochdale vs Swindon preview - Dale aim to make ground on top six

Rochdale manager Keith Hill is unlikely to make major changes for the visit of Swindon.

Dale are just four points outside the play-off places as they look to secure back-to-back promotions, and any changes for Hill are likely to be tactical rather than changes of personnel.

The manager played around with his defenders during the draw at Doncaster on Saturday, with Michael Rose, Joe Rafferty and Andy Cannon switching positions throughout the game.

Rafferty could be vulnerable should Hill make a change, while Matty Lund is pushing for an inclusion after a long spell on the sidelines, along with Ollie Lancashire (ankle) and Scott Tanser (calf), plus striker Joe Bunney (groin).

Swindon will be without three suspended players when they make the trip north.

Raphel Branco will miss the second of his five-match ban after being found guilty of violent conduct in the defeat to Bristol City where he also picked up his 10th yellow card of the season and he is joined on the sidelines by Yaser Kasim, who completes his two-match suspension, and Jordan Turnbull who reached double figures for yellows on Saturday.

But the Robins will be boosted by the return of their captain Nathan Thompson after his ban and the defender will step back into the starting line-up.

His brother Louis remains out with a shoulder injury but Michael Smith should shake off a minor knee problem and start alongside Andy Williams.
