RONALD KOEMAN admits Southampton are fighting a losing battle to keep hold of Morgan Schneiderlin.
Arsenal and Manchester United have both been monitoring the midfield maestro while Chelsea watched him and England right back Nathaniel Clyne during Saints' 1-0 defeat at Everton last weekend.
Schneiderlin came close to quitting the south coast last summer before Saints blocked his reunion with old boss Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.
And Koeman said: "It will be hard when there is real interest in the player. It is up to the player what he likes to do.
"It is very hard but normally if we have the season like we have so far there will be interest in the players of Southampton.

"If he gets a big offer from a big team, there is always interest for the player and I understand that.
"That is normal, we know our level and that is a compliment for the players and the club."
Saints are still negotiating with Clyne over a new contract while Koeman is also set to lose on-loan Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld.
Saints have the option to buy Alderweireld for £6.8m but Atletico say they will pay £1.5m to cancel that agreement so they can sell him for a higher fee.
"The player likes to stay but he is still the player of Atletico Madrid," added Koeman.
